K-Bloggers Meeting up Sunday 22nd July

Thanks to Aaron for a logo:

Tomorrows get-together for drinks is confirmed. Sunday 22nd July 2007, Starting at 2pm.
I don't know how long it will last, but I don't have anything else to do tomorrow so it could go on till late evening.

I had a wander round yesterday and the "Western Bar", "Odyssey" (I'm not sure which part is the name and which is the description) looks like a suitable venue.
It's right outside Yeouido Subway (line 5) station Exit number 5. It's on the second floor above Dunkin Donuts.

So far confirmed are Gdog of The Daily Kimchi, Daeguowl of Kimchi for Breakfast, Stafford of The Chosun Bimbo, Aaron of Idiot's Collective, Joe of ZenKimchi and GI of Guano Island

If anyone else reading this would like to join us, please come along, the more the merrier.

Jon,

Thanks for arranging things today. It was a pleasure to meet you and put a face to Korea's foremost authority on the Arex Train.

Best of luck in Japan. Keep us posted.

Hi Jon,

I'm glad I got to make the trip up to Seoul and meet you and the others. I'm sick, and here I am cooking a nice thick steak (Australian from Costco) and a large salad (part of the steak and salad will also serve as my noonish meal tomorrow).

Also, the correct term I was looking for is either "Gap Year" or "Working Holiday." You can learn more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gap_Year

If you have a friend or family member back home with high speed internet, maybe you can have them place a slingbox in their house which will allow you to watch whatever service they receive (cable/satellite/over-the-air channels and you can also add the likes of DVRS and dvd carousels). Here's some info. on it--from the UK site: http://uk.slingmedia.com/page/home

My brother pays an extra $5 U.S. a month for an extra satellite DVR. I am also connected to his basic cable. So, as I type this, I am watching the movie "Thank you for Smoking" and then an old "Star Trek" episode. I do pay him a bit for using his electricity and for the service.

Don't work so hard in Japan, that postings become few and far between, and good luck.

Hey Jon,
Ahhhh... I so would have come out to Seoul for this meet-up. It's like the YouTube 777. Cool.

Hey thanks for the shout-outs you made about my homepage a few entries ago. Very cool. Thanks!

Small turnout for a group that's so big. I also notice no female bloggers were on that RSVP list.

Dude, um, press/ PR...you know?

Anyway, I hope you all had fun.

I with jes here, as with all things in Korea, it's great to hear about it the day after it happens.

Aaron: It was great to meet you too. [The Urine King of Korea]

John: Thanks very much for coming up all the from Daejeon. Good luck with your next year here.

Amy , Jes, Jane. I'm very sorry you heard about it late. In my defence I would like to point out I suggested it on July 11th http://seoul-man.blogspot.com/2007/07/k-bloggers-meet-up.html
:)

As a couple of bloggers did not make it on Sunday, I'm prepared to try and organise another meet-up. But it will have to be within the next two weeks as I'll be leaving soon.
[No exact departure date as yet]
So please suggest a date.

My computer died over a week ago. Fried motherboard. Waiting on the new parts to arrive, and I got no response to my text messages, so I thought it was canceled.

Sorry I missed it. I would definitely be up for another one.

Hardware issue is about to be cleared up. Parts are being delivered bit by bit today.

Suggestions for future get togethers:
Churrasco (Brazilian restaurant) in Anyang

Wolfhound in Itaewon (not as crowded as Gecko's but good food and beer)

Sh-wing in Apgujeong (if it's still in business)
